At Sandy River Outfitters we specialize in trophy black bear hunts. We have
all of the black bear color phases including blonde, cinnamon and chocolate.
Deep in the heart of Manitoba's lush forests you will find a hunting
experience unlike any other. Our exclusive bear hunting area is comprised
of over 2000 square miles of dense bush and remote wilderness. Our bait
sites are extremely remote, accessible only by four wheel all terrain
vehicles(ATV), and Argo 8 Wheel Vehicles. All of our bear hunts include
fishing as our lodge is less then 50 yards from the Winnipeg River.
Pre-baited Stands
All bait locations are pre-baited at least a month before the hunter's arrival. This
ensures that all bait sites are active and will have multiple bears routinely feeding
from them. Our bow hunting stands are 14 to 16 yards from the bait and our rifle
stands are no more than 20 yards. These up close and personal distances allow
the hunter the opportunity to accurately judge the size of the bear and ensure
they are satisfied with their trophy.

Our guides ensure that every hunter has a successful and memorable hunting
experience. With over fifty years of combined guiding experience, we ensure that
every hunter has the opportunity to harvest a trophy bear. We strive for total
hunter satisfaction.
Family Hunting Experiences
Most of our stands will accommodate two hunters so that a parent can hunt with
their child of 12 years of age or older. If desired, a guide can accompany a young
hunter as requested. A hunter may also bring a non-hunter to fish. Every year we
successfully guide young hunters and their parents.
Manitoba Bear Hunting
Manitoba's black bear population has been exploding with a ten percent increase
every three years. Every hunter over the past fifteen years has had the
opportunity to harvest a trophy bear while hunting with Sandy River Outfitters.
The Complete Hunting Experience
Our hunting camp is located on the banks of the Winnipeg River. Fishing, boats
and motors are included with every bear hunt. Fall bear hunters are also given the
opportunity to kill a timber wolf and coyote while hunting for their trophy black bear.
The opportunity of taking one of these elusive animals as a part of your black bear
hunt is only permitted in Manitoba.

Although we only had two hunters take advantage of this new hunting combination, 13 year old Christen Capps was
successful in harvesting both animals with his bow. His dad was successful in harvesting a black bear with his bow
and passed on several white-tailed bucks.
